Our Story
I grew up with Aleppo soap as something completely ordinary.
It was always there at home, used every day and until the very last piece. I still remember being a child, showering during one of the frequent power cuts. I stopped to light a candle, then couldn’t find the small piece of soap I was using. I called my mother, worried. She laughed and told me to put my hand on my head — the soap was right there. We used it until nothing was left.
That simplicity stayed with me. In my family, Aleppo soap was never a product with a story. It was simply what we used. Everyone did.
My name is Amer Chanati. Later in life, I moved to Europe and settled in the Netherlands, carrying the hope of a calmer, more peaceful life. Music remained my main path — I am a musician and music teacher, and I continued working and performing across Europe. But something kept catching my attention. Everyday products here felt increasingly complex, full of unnecessary additions, far removed from the simple routines I grew up with.
I began to miss that quiet simplicity. The kind that doesn’t try to impress. The kind that just works.
That’s when I felt Aleppo soap deserved a place here — not as a trend, but as it has always been. Honest. Simple. Made with care. I wanted people to experience it the same way I did growing up.
Green Fadel was born from that idea. The name reflects what this soap stands for: olive oil, laurel oil, nature, and clarity. Green felt natural. Fadel is the family behind the soap that has always been part of my life.
Today, I share Aleppo soap the same way I know it — without shortcuts, without exaggeration, and with respect for tradition. Just simple soap, made to be used every day, until the very end.
